Finnish four-piece Kneel Before The Death reaches a defining milestone today with the release of their self-titled debut album via Ranka Kustannus. A towering statement in extreme metal, the record delivers far more than the sum of its parts. Anchored by standout singles “Spiral” and “I, Eternal”, alongside other new tracks, touches of black metal, deathcore, and lush orchestral moments cement the album’s arrival with force.
KBTD comments on the full-length’s subject matter: “This album tells a story of an everyday man who has been haunted his entire life by an emperor of the afterlife, an entity called The Death. In his quest for revenge, he conquers his inner demons and faces off with The Death in its kingdom, but in the end is consumed by the very enemy he swore to destroy.”
The album’s title track is its centerpiece, serving as a blast beat-induced battle cry for the emperor of the afterlife. Make, the singer, explains, “The song is a straightforward punch in the face—and the start of the story’s second act. Join the worshippers of The Death and kneel before the one true king!”
